Goofy Girls

More often than not the young men in the Branch (or the world) are a bit goofy. On occasion you run across the young women being goofy. I found Brittany and Jamie practicing one Wednesday before mutual. I suspect that the young women do this in secret, and at girls camp.

Melons, Melons. Yum, Yum.

Brother Foster is well known for raising some of the most delicious melons around Madisonville. Victoria and I made a visit to his farm this afternoon to help pick and to learn a bit about raising melons. Thanks Brother Foster for all the help.

Cub Scout Blue and Gold June 24, 2009

Stacey worked long and hard with the Cubs and Webelos. There hard work really showed through at the Blue and Gold Awards Ceremony. Here are some of the pictures.

Stacey conducted.

Each scout had a part.

There program included a depiction of the creation. Those are not ghosts, they are light and darkness.

Separation of the waters and land.

The next one shows the scouts (and Evie, Tori, and John) being seeds. The one after is after the seeds have grown. There is a Primary song that they sang as they did the motions.

Awards.

Mothers Pins.

Austin's Tent

Virgil's tent.

In spite of the heat we had a great time. I saw lots of improvement and development in the scouts and learned a little about each one of them. It went by so fast. Special thanks to Gene for stepping up and being our second adult. He did a great job. I can't thank him enough. Hey Gene, what are you doing next year about this time?

Be sure and ask the young men about their time at camp.
